Stefan Henrich

Stefan is a finance and asset management lawyer. He specialises in debt instruments and investments including structured products, securitisations and derivatives, as well as open & closed-end investment funds and alternative investments (including Private Equity, Hedge Funds, Energy). In these areas, he advises on cross-border structuring including regulatory, compliance and accounting aspects as well as documentation and implementation. Over the years Stefan has been a member of several Investment Advisory Boards and is a Non-Executive Director of various onshore and offshore Investment Companies.

Admitted to the bar in Germany in 1998. Practising as a registered European lawyer in England and Wales. Studied at the Universities of Frankfurt am Main (1992) and London (LL.M., 1996). Legal Training (Referendariat) in Frankfurt am Main and Brussels (1992-1995). General Counsel of a global alternative investment firm in London and Vienna (2004-2012). Investment Banking with international top tier financial institutions in Frankfurt/Main, London and Luxembourg (1996-2004). Stefan has written extensively for Alternative Investment publications.



Dato’ Ahmad Hisham Kamaruddin

Hisham is advising the firm’s clients on cross-border transactions and investments in South East Asia.

Hisham has been practising law in Malaysia for more than 30 years. He is the founding partner of the law firm of Hisham & Associates in Kuala Lumpur, a boutique firm advising clients (domestic and international as well as both governmental and private) on Petrochemical, Oil & Gas related projects. Hisham has also acquired extensive experience in corporate banking and finance, loan & securities documentation as well as in corporate matters. Hisham further focuses on complex joint-venture agreements between Malaysian entities and foreign investors. Other areas of expertise include cross-border estate planning, intellectual property and aviation law.

Education and Experience

Hisham graduated from University of Malaya in 1979 with an Honours Law degree as a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) (Hons). He served as a Legal Officer with Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Berhad and subsequently as a Company Secretary at Malaysian Industrial Estates Sdn Bhd, before chambering at Messrs. Abdul Aziz & Ong i. in May 1982. He was called to the Malaysian Bar and then continued to serve Messrs. Abdul Aziz & Ong. In October 1983, he founded Messrs. Hisham & Associates in Kuala Lumpur and remains the senior partner of that law firm until to date. Hisham is also a Notary Public.

Since January 2007, Hisham has acted as a Tribunal President for the Malaysia Consumer Court to which position he was appointed by the Minister of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs. He was also appointed council member of the Malaysia Heritage Council by the Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage.

Directorships held by Hisham include the companies MIR VALVE Sdn Bhd and ERM Malaysia Sdn Bhd. Hisham is a member of the Malaysia French Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
